From the Archives
Subscribe to my free Substack From the Archives for shorter form articles based on primary source research.
My current six-part Substack series, A (Very?) Lost Cause: American Civil War Tourism in Britain’s “Lee Country” is based on extensive archival research from sources on both sides of the Atlantic. It documents the British Travel Association’s attempts to attract American tourists to Shropshire for the US Civil War Centennial in the 1960s.
